“The next day [John the Baptist] saw Jesus coming toward him and said, 'Behold, the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world.'"
Enjoy this coloring page by catechist Meagen Farrell. It is based on a stained glass windows at St. Joseph Calasanctius Catholic Church in Jefferson, Ohio.
Meagen created this page for 5-9 year-olds to accompany a field trip to the sanctuary. Members of the Environment Committee led a tour of the worship space for the early Elementary-age kids and their high school aides. The kids learned about how we can respond to God's love like Saint John the Baptist by answering the question: who is the Lamb of God? We also sang the "lamb of God" refrain that our congregation uses for Mass (in ordinary time).
An extension to this activity is for the children to use a reference book including St. John the Baptist or search a Bible index for "lamb" or "lamb of God" (especially the books of Ezra and Revelation) to better understand the details included in this stained glass window.
