“The first living creature was like a lion, the second living creature was like a calf, the third living creature had a face like a man and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle.” -Revelation 4:7
Enjoy this coloring page by catechist Meagen Farrell. It is based on four stained glass windows at St. Joseph Calasanctius Catholic Church in Jefferson, Ohio.
Meagen created this page for 5-9 year-olds to accompany a field trip to the sanctuary. Members of the Environment Committee led a tour of the worship space for the early Elementary-age kids and their high school aides. The kids learned about how we can respond to God's love like the Saints depicted in the stained glass windows.
An extension to this activity is to discuss the front of the book of the Gospels used during Mass, which often depicts all four "living creatures" from Revelation as symbols of the four writers of the Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
